Built from the cab,
not a boardroom.

Hi — I'm Joe Copley. I've spent 11 years driving lorries, and I built TrueMile.

I'm not a software company and I've never sat in a boardroom. I'm a driver. Eleven years on UK roads — a Birmingham lad who's ended up in Scotland, with a lot of miles in between. The early starts, the walkarounds, the Working Time rules, the diesel, and the tracking apps that drained your phone battery and still didn't work properly.

You see a lot from the cab. I watched operators price the same runs for years while diesel crept up 30p a litre and quietly ate the margin. I saw good firms with no honest way to know which trucks earned their keep and which ones were passengers. And I used the driver apps — the clunky ones that turned a simple clock-on and walkaround into a fight.

I looked at the software out there. It was either a giant, expensive TMS built for a hundred-truck operation, or an American telematics box with the dollar signs swapped for pounds. Nothing built by someone who'd actually done the miles.

So I built it myself. TrueMile shows an operator their real cost per mile, whether a job's worth taking beforethey take it, and which truck's making money and which one's a passenger. And the driver side — the clock-on, the walkarounds, picking up jobs, the background GPS — is built the way I'd have wanted it after 11 years of using ones that weren't.

It runs on UK diesel prices, UK crime data, HMRC mileage rates and DVSA-ready checks — because it was built here, in Britain, by someone who's done the job. Not adapted from something made an ocean away.

I won't put fake reviews on this page. When real operators use TrueMile and it saves them money, I'll let them tell you in their own words. Until then, all I'll say is this: it's built by a driver who spent 11 years wishing the tools were better.
