Privacy policy

Last updated 10 August 2026 · Applies to truemile.co.uk and the TrueMile app

TrueMile helps hauliers work out what their miles really cost. To do that we have to hold some of your data. This page says — in plain English — what we collect, why, where it lives, and what your rights are. The short version: we collect the minimum needed to run the service, we never sell it, and you can have it deleted.

What we collect

Driver location — the important one

Payments

Subscriptions are handled by Stripe, a regulated payment provider. Your card number goes to Stripe, not to us — TrueMile never sees or stores card details.

Where your data lives

Data is stored with our database provider (Supabase) in UK/EU data centres, protected by industry-standard encryption in transit and at rest, with access locked to each company's own people.

Cookies, and what's kept on your device

Two things, and only one of them is a choice:

Both are held in your browser's own storage rather than as tracking cookies, which means they are per-browser: a choice you make in Chrome doesn't follow you into the phone app.

The TrueMile phone app never asks the cookie question, because it doesn't run the where-you-came-from tracker at all. Everything it keeps — your login, your settings, and the token that lets it send you job alerts — is needed to do the job.

What we don't do

How long we keep it

For as long as your account is active. If you close your account — or ask us to — your company's data is deleted. Some minimal records (like invoices) may be kept where the law requires it.

Your rights

Under UK data-protection law you can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it — email support@truemile.co.ukand we'll sort it. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data you can complain to the UK regulator, the ICO, at ico.org.uk.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters, we'll say so on this page (and in the app for anything significant, like location handling).

TrueMile is a trading name of Joseph Copley. Joseph Copley is the data controller for this website.
